"A creative tool to help children who are living with a medical or physical challenge overcome fears and build confidence. This heart-warming story will also help children understand the unique differences among people from all walks of life.

"As parents and kids enjoy reading this book together, the story will help them deal with the challenges of amblyopia. It puts a positive spin on having to wear an eye patch, but it could well be applied to any other challenge a child may be facing. Children enjoy relating to fictional characters and this makes it easy for them to understand, accept and overcome the potential discomfort of feeling different. A fun and inspiring adventure."
-Lorraine C. Ladish
Editor-in-Chief of Mamiverse.com and published author
"I think it is fantastic that you have been to write children's books that encourage sensitivity to people who are different. Kids need to be taught that is OK to be different and that even if another child (or adult) has a challenge, it does not make that person less of a human being. Thank you again for all the good things you are doing to make this world a better place."

Carmen Swick recently attended our Annual Author Fair at Bergen Meadow Elementary. This was her second year in attendance. We were thrilled that she decided to return because the kids and teachers love her books. One teacher came up to me later and told me what a perfect fit Carmen's books were. In that class there is a nearly blind student who often wears a patch and struggles with feeling different from the other students. Carmen's books really helped put this child at ease and made her feel like a valued member of the class! Carmen, thanks for writing such an amazing book and for your dedication to kids! We really appreciate you!
